Database Administrator - DB2 (JD#918) - Singapore

Job Summary
Immediate opportunity for a DB2 DBA with good experience in administration and support of large databases. Our client is one of the leaders in providing business solutions to major Financial Institutions.
This requirement is initially for a contract of 12 months which could be extended further.
Candidates who can join immediately shall be preferred.
Mandatory Skill-set
The prospective candidate is expected to possess the following skills:
?Recognized degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline;
?3-5 years of relevant experience;
?Should be strong in installation, administration and maintenance of DB2 and Oracle databases;
?Excellent knowledge of database backup and recovery scenarios;
?Experience in data migration, performance tuning and upgrades.
Desired Skill-set
?Strong communication & analytical skills.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for the following activities:
?Responsible for the day to day administration and maintenance of DB2 and Oracle databases for large scale projects;
?Performs the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases;
?Plans and implements backup and recovery of the DB2 and Oracle databases;
?Performs database re-organisations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database;
?Handles the ongoing tuning of the database instances.
